Job Description
A strategic leadership appointment within a growing commercial litigation practice on the South Coast.
Based in Hampshire, this role offers a rare opportunity to build and shape the firm's litigation presence from the ground up, supported by an established team during an exciting phase of strategic expansion in the commercial and corporate sector.
The firm is highly regarded for the trusted relationships it has built with clients across the Hampshire region, serving sole traders, individuals, SMEs and large household names. This represents an ideal move for a driven litigation Partner seeking the autonomy to develop their own practice while contributing to the long-term growth of an ambitious, well-resourced firm.
Responsibilities
Taking instructions and conducting detailed investigations and analysis of factual and legal issues
Formulating dispute strategy and advising clients on merits, risks and resolution options
Preparing for and attending hearings, including conducting advocacy where appropriate
Communicating with clients, witnesses, other parties and the court
Obtaining witness evidence, instructing counsel and experts, and preparing written submissions
Advising on and engaging in Alternative Dispute Resolution including mediation
Supporting and supervising junior members of the CDR team
Basic Requirements
Qualified Solicitor with 4+ years PQE in commercial litigation and dispute resolution
Experienced in drafting court proceedings, witness statements and contract issues
Strong communicator with the ability to build and develop client relationships
Collaborative team player with the ability to support and supervise junior lawyers
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously, with a focus on impact and ROI.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think critically.
Preferred Requirements
Experience working within a recognised Legal 500 or Chambers-ranked practice
Established network or client following in the Hampshire or South Coast region
Proven track record of business development and fee generation
Experience with agile development methodologies, such as Scrum or Kanban.
Strong understanding of user experience principles and ability to advocate for user needs.
